It’s hard to believe it but we’re already more than halfway through Capria’s inaugural Intensive. The Intensive is Capria’s four-week in person program that brings together a Cohort of fund managers who receive tools, templates, training, connections and access to capital in order to support the creation of their impact funds. You can learn more about the Intensive here. As we continue to receive applications for Cohort 2, which are due April 30th, we wanted to share a couple highlights from our work with Cohort 1.
The three teams that have been selected are making progress towards mutually determined milestones based on five key areas of focus that are critical for success. Each day there are interactive modules led by someone from the Capria team or experts in the Capria network covering topics such as fundraising, term sheet negotiation, impact measurement and portfolio development. We’ve also already started to see the power of impact fund management teams coming together and learning from each other. Although no single day is the same, all the days are extremely full. In just the first two weeks, a few highlights include:
- Working sessions and mentor support from fund managers and other experts from more than 10 countries with experience managing over $500M AUM
- Over 40 templates have been provided to support fundraising efforts, measuring impact, and managing the due diligence process
- More than 50 office hours where fund management teams received individualized feedback on their fundraising pitch, fund structuring, and global tax considerations
- Virtual Roundtables with groups such as the IFC and in-person meetings with internationally focused organizations such as the African Chamber of Commerce
All of our work with Cohort 1 is building towards our Fund Manager’s Forum at the end of the month, where Cohort participants will preview their impact funds to an audience of more than 60 attendees who manage over $10B in assets. Applications for Cohort 2 are open until April 30th and can be downloaded at https://2019.capria.vc/apply/.
